A Bright Start to a New Story: The Grand Opening of Tashir Arena

On October 24, Yerevan celebrated the grand opening of Tashir Arena, a unique next-generation cultural and entertainment complex built to the highest international standards. The premiere of the ETERNIA show became a vibrant highlight of the event and a symbol of a new era for the Yerevan Circus, which now, in terms of technical capabilities and innovation, rivals the world’s leading arenas.

The festive evening began with a symbolic moment: Tatevik Karapetyan personally opened the arena’s doors, welcoming the first guests into this new space. The opening ceremony gathered representatives of culture and business, charitable organizations and media, as well as stars of show business, artists, and bloggers. Hundreds of guests witnessed the birth of a unique arena where art, technology, and talent come together as one.

Guests were treated to an impressive festive program. The culmination of the evening was the premiere of ETERNIA, a show created by a team of more than one hundred performers, destined to become the signature production of the new arena. The performance erases the boundaries between circus art, theater, and modern multimedia technologies, revealing to audiences new dimensions of what is possible. The show was created especially for Tashir Arena to fully utilize all the technical features of the new stage: moving platforms, state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, multimedia projections, and mechanical effects create a fully immersive experience for the audience.

“Today we are opening not just a new venue, but a space that will become the heart of Armenia’s cultural life. Here, art, inspiration, extraordinary talent, and love for our country meet. This project became possible thanks to the incredible dedication of our team, and I am proud that our dream has come true. Despite all difficulties, we believe in the power of art and in the good that always prevails,” said Tatevik Karapetyan from the stage before the show began.

In her speech, Tatevik also addressed her father, Samvel Karapetyan, expressing deep gratitude and admiration for his uncompromising vision. She noted that it was his determination and perseverance that made the realization of this truly grand dream project possible.

A few days before the grand opening, on Tatevik Karapetyan’s initiative, a charity pre-premiere was held for special guests. The first viewers of the new show were those who need warmth and care the most: large families, families from Artsakh, veterans, people with disabilities, and beneficiaries of charitable foundations. For many, that evening became a celebration filled with light, music, and faith in kindness.

This was not the first charitable initiative within the walls of Tashir Arena. On August 18, a charity concert titled “Children for Children” took place as a special pre-opening event, organized by personal decision of Samvel Karapetyan, President of the Tashir Charitable Foundation, who chose to dedicate his 60th birthday to children. At his request, the doors of the new arena were opened for the first time to more than 1,200 young guests from across Armenia: children from large families, from Artsakh, as well as children of heroes who gave their lives for the homeland and children of servicemen affected by military actions.

Starting October 25, the ETERNIA show will be open to the public. Tickets are already on sale online and at the complex box offices. Performances will take place three times a week, with some days featuring two sessions: daytime and evening.
