Idram Announces Partnership with WeChat Pay
News |
Idram announces the launch of a new strategic collaboration with Tencent’s TenPay Global and WeChat Pay payment platforms.
The agreement
was formalized during Fintech Festival 2025, the world’s largest fintech forum
held in Singapore.
TenPay Global, Tencent’s cross-border payment platform, is
expanding its collaboration with international wallets and financial
institutions.
Within this framework, users of TenPay Global’s 20 strategic
partners—including DBS PayLah! (Singapore), GrabPay (Southeast Asia), PayPal
and Venmo (United States), and of course Idram—will soon be able to make
payments across WeChat Pay merchant networks in China by either scanning the QR
code displayed at the merchant location with their app or presenting their own
wallet’s QR code. This was also reported
by PRNewswire agency.
Idram also informs that, as part of this collaboration, WeChat
Pay users will likewise be able to make payments in Armenia at more than 25,000
merchant locations by simply scanning Idram’s QR code with their app.
This partnership will not only enhance convenience for
international tourists and business visitors, but also represents an important
step toward the global integration of Armenia’s financial technology ecosystem.
The new partnership with WeChat Pay further reinforces Idram’s
position as a leading innovator and a representative of Armenia’s fintech
sector on the international stage. It marks an important milestone in
strengthening global connectivity and fostering cross-border collaboration.
Idram is the first company in Armenia to have introduced a
large-scale, fully integrated contactless QR payment system back in 2016.
Today, thanks to Idram’s international partnerships, Idram QR enables payment
capabilities for 1.8 billion users.
THE COMPANY IS SUPERVISED BY THE CENTRAL BANK OF ARMENIA
