Gucci's management has changed against the backdrop of declining sales

Gucci's sales have declined. What is happening at Kering holding?

In the second quarter of 2025, sales of the Gucci brand amounted to 1.46 billion euros, a decrease of 25% compared to the same period last year. The data was published in Kering holding's financial report.

The decline coincided with management changes at the brand. In March 2025, Gucci's new director became Demna Gvasalia, formerly the head of Balenciaga. He replaced Sabato De Sarno, who had served since 2023.

In the same quarter, Kering holding's total sales also decreased by 15%, reaching 3.7 billion euros. Operating profit in the first half of 2025 amounted to 969 million euros, down 39% compared to the previous year.

Luca de Meo has been appointed as Kering's new CEO, who previously led Renault. The company's leader states that the newly appointed teams are focused on increasing brand value through innovation.
