The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia has presented the new procedure for electronic registration of children entering the first grade for the 2026–2027 academic year. The process will be organized in three phases to improve the system and simplify the process for parents.
According to the Ministry of Education, the entire process of registration, submitting an application to the school principal, and signing a contract is fully digitized.
Phases and deadlines for registration
Phase 1. Registration of children with privileges
June 8 (09:00) - June 21 (24:00)
The system will be open exclusively for children included in the privileged groups. The privileges will be automatically visible on the electronic platform.
Phase 2. General grounds (education in Armenian)
June 23 (from 09:00)
The admission to classes with education in Armenian starts on general grounds, including citizens of the Republic of Armenia, foreigners, dual citizens, and representatives of national minorities.
Phase 3. Registration for classes with education in Russian
June 30 (from 09:00)
The registration for classes with education in Russian opens for foreign citizens, dual citizens, stateless persons, and in some cases for children of national minorities.
Who has privileges in the first phase
The following can benefit from the first phase:
Children who have a brother or sister studying at this school,
Children of the staff of this school,
Children living within walking distance from the school who are included in the social assessment system (or have a monthly income below the established threshold), are under guardianship, or have a disability (including in the case of a parent's disability).
Special case for state system employees. Parents of state employees who have moved to another location for at least 6 months due to official duties must send an application and certificate to the email address
[email protected]by June 8. If approved, registration will be carried out from June 8 to 21.
Important provisions for large families
In the case of twins, triplets, and more, the registration of at least one of them in any public school ensures the automatic admission of the other children to the same institution, regardless of the limitations on licensed places.
Step-by-step registration guide
Parents are advised to register and identify themselves in advance before the official start of registration, as the process is time-consuming.
1. Access and registration on the platform: Before the start.
Access the https://my.emis.am/ official platform and create a personal user account. You can find registration details in the video guide "Registration on my.emis.am" posted on the platform.
2. Passing identification: Before the start.
Complete the mandatory identification phase on the created page. This will allow you to immediately proceed to the next step when the system opens.
3. Choosing a school and registration: According to established phases.
On the start date of the corresponding phase (June 8, 23, or 30) from 09:00, log in to your page and select a school. Details of this phase are presented in the video guide "Registration for the first grade".
The registration system will be open and will continue to operate throughout the academic year.
