Armenia received a letter from the Russian Minister of Energy and will respond as necessary. MFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received a letter from the Russian Minister of Energy Sergey Tsivilev, addressed to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, by 15:00. According to media reports, the Russian side threatened Armenia with a unilateral suspension or cancellation of the agreement on the supply of gas, oil products, and unprocessed diamonds if Yerevan continues the process of joining the EU.

“As of 15:00, the letter addressed to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure has been received, it will be forwarded, studied, and the Armenian side will respond as necessary,” said the press secretary of the MFA of Armenia, Ani Badalyan, to Armenpress.

Earlier, Russian media reported that the special representative of the Russian MFA, Maria Zakharova, stated that Russia would unilaterally suspend or cancel the agreement on the supply of gas, oil products, and unprocessed diamonds if Yerevan continues the process of joining the EU. She noted that such content was conveyed to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia through the Russian ambassador in Armenia.
