U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will no longer use public funds for his advertising campaigns.
Why this matters Following a wave of criticism regarding advertisements funded by the state budget, Trump has decided to switch to self-financing to ease tensions.
What Trump says On the Truth Social network, the U.S. president explained his move:
“The radical left is upset that I am publishing ads, which I consider a positive representation of our great America, and I am paying for them with U.S. funds.”
He emphasized that paying with public funds is “quite standard,” but to put an end to the criticism, he will now cover the expenses himself.
Funding sources According to Trump, payments for “patriotic advertisements” and similar materials will be made:
From personal funds,
From funds raised for the organization “MAGA, Inc.”
“I have decided to do this myself, using the money raised for me and MAGA, Inc. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he wrote.
