The unique Denza Z9 GT electric car, jointly created by the Chinese BYD automotive group and the Swiss luxury brand Chopard, was sold at a charity auction for $815,000. This figure makes the model the most expensive Denza car ever sold.
Charity context The car was auctioned in the city of Antibes, France, during the amfAR charity gala held as part of the Cannes Film Festival. All proceeds from the auction will go towards funding research and prevention programs for HIV. According to an official statement from BYD, this car was created specifically for this initiative and is a one-off.
Design and interior features The special edition Denza Z9 GT features gold-colored exterior elements and a completely redesigned interior, with design inspired by Chopard's jewelry art. The interior decoration includes amethyst shades, control buttons styled like precious stones, as well as embroidery with the Chopard brand's 'C' logo and branded wireless charging pads.
