Australia's population has exceeded 28 million

The official population count of Australia has crossed the 28 million mark. This is evidenced by the latest data published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

According to the agency's calculations, this symbolic threshold was surpassed on the morning of June 2 of the current year. Based on current demographic trends, the country's population is increasing on average by one person every 75 seconds.
